Daveigh Chase’s boyfriend Roy Hernandez wrote a heartbreaking plea on GoFundMe days before she reportedly died of meningitis.
The Lilo & Stitch voice actor passed away aged 35 after contracting the infection and ‘several serious blood’ problems, Hernandez said to TMZ. It led to her developing a severe case of sepsis, which caused her body to shut down.
According to the outlet, Chase was taken to a hospital earlier in June to address malnutrition.
In the days before her death, Hernandez set up a GoFundMe page when The Ring star was still receiving treatment.

"Her condition has become critical, and the doctors have told me she may not have much time left," he wrote.
"All she ever wanted was a place where we could live together, feel safe, and be happy. Now, more than ever, I want to give her that sense of home and peace in her final days."

Hernandez went on: "I understand we all go through things, but if you can help, I will be really grateful for anything. And if you can only give a prayer, I will take that too. Thank you for considering helping us during this difficult time."
The child actor first made her mark on the film industry with the American dub of Spirited Away, Lilo & Stitch, Donnie Darko and later The Ring, which earned her an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.

In her personal life, however, Hernandez said she was facing bullying and had a falling out with her family, leading to a ‘struggle to find safety and happiness’.
It comes after footage, obtained by The California Post, shows Chase looking extremely ill and unable to move while inside a tent.
She was allegedly living in Skid Row, home to thousands of homeless people in LA.
"When we met, I promised to protect her and give her the love and comfort she deserved. Together, we found moments of happiness and hope," Hernandez added.

Paying tribute to the late actor, one fan commented: "It’s just so incredibly sad. Daveigh brought so much joy and hope to so many of us in childhood, she taught me about never leaving behind your loved ones, never forgetting them, yet in her own last days she was struggling so much with so few loved ones around her. My heart goes out to everyone who’s touched by her and who’s loved her. May she finds her Ohana on the other side."
Another added: "So sad, on so many Levels. Life can have its highs and its lows, and she was meant to fly."
LADbible has approached LAPD, Roy Hernandez and the medical examiner in LA for comment.
