Kristen Bell has made a controversial cheating admission about her marriage with Dax Shepard.
This comes as she previously had to limit her Instagram comments following major backlash over a post to celebrate their anniversary.
Seemingly intended to be pretty heartfelt and potentially funny, the Netflix star marked their 12 years of marriage with: “To the man who once said to me, 'I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I’m heavily incentivised to kill you, I never would.'"
And hey, maybe it was funny to them in private, but some found it tone-deaf, particularly ‘during domestic violence awareness month’.

But Bell and Shepard aren’t total strangers to controversy and she’s potentially sparked a little more with her take on infidelity.

The pair began dating back in late 2007 and were engaged in 2010. However, they decided to delay their marriage until the state of California had legalised same-sex marriage so they waited until 2013.
And as reported by The Sun, the 45-year-old apparently said she wouldn’t really bat an eyelid if her husband cheated.
“Kind of who cares, to be honest?” Bell said of infidelity. “I also know we’re monkeys. We’re both attracted to other people. We’re married. We’re not dead.

“But I don’t know that everyone has the privilege of this much confidence in their relationship.”
The Frozen star apparently has her ‘own barometer of what is good and bad’ for her which is what she lives by.
Non-monogamy is something Bell has chatted about before, having told Men’s Health back in 2017 that she’s ‘quite positive we are not meant to be monogamous’.
“It’s difficult, and it requires a lot of attention, vulnerability and openness,” she added.

She also told You Magazine in 2018: “I see the benefits of a society with monogamous relationships, but it's difficult because you're still attracted to other people."
And Bell reckons it ‘alleviates’ the pressure of it if you understand that ‘your partner's attraction to someone else is nothing to do with you’.
During an episode of his Armchair Expert podcast, Shepard also admitted he has a ‘horrendous history of cheating’.
He went on to comment on the pressure that comes along with such a publicly-known (and often loved) relationship: “I think, 'I could blow this whole thing up.' That's certainly something I've done. And now, the whole world is watching. There is a stress about that for me."
However, after rumours of them being ‘swingers’, Shepard told Drew Barrymore last year that they are completely monogamous.
