A reality star has described her experience after claiming Mounjaro ‘stopped working’.
Delores Catania has been open about her use of Ozempic in the past, being one of the first celebrities to talk openly about using the drug for weight loss.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star first spoke about using it back in early 2023 and said earlier this year that it was time to ‘wean myself off’.

But in a new interview on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, the 54-year-old said the Mounjaro ‘stopped working’, with it unclear when she switched between the drugs.
“I’m having a really hard time right now,” the TV star explained. “My Mounjaro stopped working. I gained 20 pounds.”
Typically designed to treat Type-2 diabetes, the injectable medication can also be used for weight loss treatment as it helps people feel full and eat less.

Catania said she’s been having a ‘bad time’ with it as the hosts asked if she could switch to something else, like Ozempic.

“I did it all,” she explained. “So I stopped taking it for like a month.”
The Housewife then went on to reveal she had undergone a cardiac ablation due to sudden onset of atrial fibrillation (AFib).
“So I said ‘well I might as well stop taking it anyway’,” she added.
AFib is an irregular and often very rapid heart rhythm which can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure and heart-related complications.
Catania said doctors said there was ‘no reason’ for her to have the condition but that her heart ‘was beating a lot’.

She then underwent a cardiac ablation which sees a catheter placed into a blood vessel and guided to the heart. Doctors then essentially make small burns or freezes in areas to create small scars in the heart, blocking irregular heartbeats.
But now The Traitors US star says she’s ‘on a bunch of medicine like 10 pills a day’.

“It’s blood thinners so I don’t get a blood clot, it’s Metoprolol, and something else and something else,” she added. “It’s like a formality now, I have to take it for the next 90 days and then I should be done.”
Catania went on to say that she’s hoping this is why she gained the weight, not necessarily because of the Mounjaro itself.

The NHS does not list weight gain as a side effect of Metoprolol, but some beta blockers and similar medications have been found to cause slight weight gain.
Addressing why she was using medication for weight loss in 2023, Catania told Page Six's Virtual Reali-Tea podcast: “I'm going through menopause, I have a thyroid issue, I have inflammation and weight is hard to take off.
“And I work out, and I don't eat crazy, and I was gaining weight, and it's a lot of different layers… Let's just let everybody know."
