The most searched name on Google for 2025 has been revealed - and there's a grim reason why people were looking him up.
When December rolls around, every app and website around seems to release a 'year-in-review' or 'wrapped', summing up either your activity on the platform in the past year, or their own data over the same amount of time.
You've likely seen people's Spotify Wrapped results plastered all over social media in the past week or so, as (for some reason) many feel the need to publicly reveal who they've been listening to and how long they've spent listening to music in the year.
Now, it's Google's turn to share data and though they might not have individual 'wrapped' summaries for you to share, they've revealed what the world has been interested in throughout 2025.

The trending topics, search terms, and people of the year have been revealed, with the likes of Charlie Kirk, Pope Leo XIV, Super Bowl headliner Kendrick Lamar and the US government shutdown all ranking among the top searches.
But in scrolling to the top of the most searched for people in 2025, one name came out on top - a musician who made headlines for all the wrong reasons back in September.

D4vd is known for charting tunes such as 'Feel It' and 'Here With Me', and now the 20-year-old is the single-most searched name in the world this year.
While some may assume it's due to his rise to fame in recent years, it's more likely to do with his involvement in the case of a murdered teenager who was found in the boot of his Tesla.
Details have surfaced in the weeks since the remains were found - the body was confirmed to belong to Celeste Rivas, who first went missing at the age of 13 from Lake Elsinore in California.
Her body was found after a 'foul smell' was detected coming from the car while it was in an impound lot in Los Angeles, with police discovering her remains in the electric vehicle.
It was soon revealed that the car belonged to singer D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, with his involvement in the teen's missing case and subsequent death immediately questioned.
Rivas had turned 15 before being found, with a spokesperson for D4vd saying at the time of the discovery: "D4vd has been informed about what's happened.
"And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities."
LAPD Captain Scot M. Williams said: "Celeste's body was not frozen; she was not decapitated. The whole frozen thing doesn't even make sense. Her body was in the car for weeks."

Williams highlighted that D4vd was not a suspect, explaining: "Even if she had been frozen solid when she was put in the car (which there is NO evidence to suggest she was), five or more weeks in the trunk of a car in sweltering heat in the middle of summer would not have resulted in a partially frozen body being discovered on September 8th."
Authorities are still trying to figure out how and when Rivas died, with the severe state of the remains likely meaning that a cause of death would be 'undetermined'.
While the artist has not been charged with any crime at the time of writing, it soon surfaced that a song about someone named 'Celeste' was 'leaked' and uploaded to SoundCloud.
It featured the lyrics: "Oh, Celeste / The girl with my name tattooed on her chest / Smell her on my clothes like cigarettes / I hear her voice each time I take a breath / I’m obsessed."
He added: "Afraid you'll only love me when undressed / But you look so damn gorgeous in that dress / Missing you so much makes me depressed / But I digress, because..."
