Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up on what it was like to shoot sex scenes with Hollywood star Timothée Chalamet for their upcoming movie.
Marty Supreme is set to be released in the UK next year as Chalamet's latest film in what has been a long streak of hitters and box office bangers for the American actor.
The sports-drama is based on the life of table tennis player Marty Reisman and his journey to becoming the US men’s singles champion in the mid-20th century, following up on the actor's success in titles such as Wonka, the Dune franchise and A Complete Unknown, where Chalamet portrayed music legend Bob Dylan.
But in a new challenge for the 29-year-old, he is starring alongside Gwyneth Paltrow in the biopic, which is set in the 1950s.

For Paltrow though, it is her first leading role in a film since 2010 and her first experience with intimacy coordinators.

The role was only introudced after the #MeToo movement to protect actors from instances of abuse that were reported over the years.
Unbeknownst to Paltrow though, the role was prominent on most Hollywood sets where sexual scenes of any nature needed to be filmed.
“There’s now something called an intimacy coordinator, which I did not know existed,” she admitted in an interview with Vanity Fair, and when asked if she was comfortable with moves during a sex scene, she recalled: “I was like: 'Girl, I’m from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the cameras on'.”
Speaking about Chalamet, who was 28 at the time of shooting, Paltrow, who was 52 at the time, explained: “We said: ‘I think we’re good. You can step a little bit back'.
"I don’t know how it is for kids who are starting out, but … if someone is like, 'OK, and then he’s going to put his hand here', I would feel, as an artist, very stifled by that.”
Paltrow plays the wife of a rival table tennis contender who Marty starts an affair with, as Paltrow admitted: “I mean, we have a lot of sex in this movie.
“There’s a lot – a lot.”
Speaking about the 23-year age gap between the two, the actress joked in the early stages of filming: "I was like: 'OK, great. I’m 109 years old. You’re 14'.”
Paltrow has never been shy in sharing details of more personal details of her life, even recently comparing how good her ex-boyfriends, Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck, were in bed.
When asked about ranking Pitt and Affleck against each other on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast in 2023, the actress answered: "That is really hard. Because Brad was like the sort of major chemistry, love of your life, kind... and then Ben was, like, technically excellent."
