Jack Whitehall returns to Amsterdam as new dad after ‘sex shops’ and ‘space cakes’ on first visit

Jack Whitehall returns to Amsterdam as new dad after ‘sex shops’ and ‘space cakes’ on first visit

Jack and his girlfriend Roxy recently welcomed a baby girl

Life changes a lot when you have a kid. And it’s not just us ‘normal’ people whose lives become overtaken by cries and nappies, but celebrities too.

Although they might have a little more luxury than most when it comes to bringing up a baby, they still have to adapt. And for one comedian, that means goodbye to sex shops and space cakes.

Travels with my Father star Jack Whitehall and girlfriend Roxy Horner became parents in September.

Jack and Roxy named their daughter Elsie.

The comedian took to Instagram earlier this morning (5 November) to share a hilarious ‘then and now’.

Standing alongside a canal and staring down the camera on a gloomy-looking day, he has his baby strapped to his chest and doesn’t seem to be giving much of a smile.

Very differently, the second photo shows a teenage Jack, wearing a white T-shirt and sweatbands with his arms in the air at a rave.

Big '90s vibes.

Jack wrote in the caption: “This is me in Amsterdam today - very much in my dad energy.

“Swipe right to see the first time I came to the Dam aged 19 and went to a rave called white sensation.

"Goodbye space cakes and sex shops, Hello changing nappies on a barge.”

Seems the Bad Education star has had to trade the typical youngster traditions of Amsterdam for a more, well... conservative parent life.

Fans unsurprisingly found this contrast hilarious, saying they ‘love this’ and reassuring him: “Never mind mate… Kids are great.”

One also put: “It comes to us all!!”

Others also said: “Being a dad is your greatest achievements… much better than going to raves.”

Amsterdam is a different experience for Jack nowadays.

One user even wrote: “Honestly get a baby sitter & go party babies don't care. It’s as they get older they need stories & to know you’re there.

“When Roxy’s ready enjoy nights out before the toddler years.”

Another hit: “Life comes at you fast.”

Making a reference to his dad’s little puppet doll from Travels with my Father, one even joked: “You do look a bit like you’re wearing Winston now.”

With others joking: “Is Winston OK with the new sibling?”

When announcing the birth of baby Elsie, Jack praised his partner and wrote: “In awe of my partner @roxyhorner who has been amazing throughout this journey and is going to be the greatest mum ever.

“So excited to have started a family of my own. Having vowed I’d never be that guy I am now 100% going to be the parent that shows everyone endless pictures of their kid.

"I also wore Skechers to hospital, I think I must accept I am a full-blown dad now."
