Never quite one to shy away from expressing herself on social media, Jamie Lee Curtis shared a bit of a bold picture yesterday (2 March).

Well, I guess it’s how you define ‘bold’, because it’s not necessarily unusual to see someone snapping a bit of cleavage on Instagram really. But perhaps you wouldn’t quite expect to see it from one of Hollywood’s icons.

Yet Curtis proudly showed off her ‘money makers’ in a selfie as she explained the sweet reason why – to support her celebrity goddaughter, Maggie Gyllenhaal.

Yeah, that’s right, forget the six degrees of Kevin Bacon, the Freaky Friday actor is a close family friend of the Gyllenhaals. And to show her support for the director’s new film, The Bride!, she smiled for a selfie with a glimpse of her lacy bra.

“My goddaughter @mgyllenhaal has made @thebridemovie an audacious, bold, punk, feminist, opera of a movie and she sent me some lingerie,” Curtis wrote on Instagram, “which is one of the partnerships with @victoriassecret and I wore it today to support my money makers as well as her movie and couldn't figure out how to show her my support so this was the best I could do in a limo driving around New York City.

“Proud as f**k of her.”

The actor also went on to say the look is ‘very Dorothy Farinelli’ which is her character in the upcoming Prime Video series, Scarpetta, with Nicole Kidman. The crime thriller is set to be released next week, on 11 March, and Curtis is currently in New York doing promo for it.

As for The Bride! that the 67-year-old is showing support for by giving an iconic flash of her black lacy bra, it premieres this Friday after much anticipation.

Directed by Maggie, it also stars her brother Jake Gyllenhaal (who is also Curtis’ godson) as well as Oscar award favourite Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale and Peter Sarsgaard.

A take on the 1818 novel Frankenstein, (yes, another one) the film sees scientist Dr Euphronious (Annette Bening) bring a murdered young woman back to life to be a companion for Frankenstein’s monster (Bale).

Curtis often shows her support for the Gyllenhaal siblings, supporting Jake’s Broadway run back last year as she wrote on Instagram: “Getting to watch people that you meet when they're very young develop into artists is a particular thrill.

“I can't imagine what Jake and Maggie's parents feel like or for that matter what my parents must've felt like when I too began to dabble in the dark arts of films and television.”
