Jeremy Clarkson might regret expensive pledge he has to stick to if 16-year-old Luke Littler wins tonight

Jeremy Clarkson has put a potentially costly wager on Luke Littler winning the PDC World Darts Championship final tonight.

Littler - dubbed ‘Luke the Nuke’ - secured himself a spot in the final last night (January 2) after beating 2018 champ Rob Cross at Alexandra Palace.

He won 6-2 in sets, producing three 130-plus checkouts while averaging 106.05.

Speaking after his record-breaking win, a delighted Littler said: “I haven’t got the words. It’s crazy. I have just settled on that stage.

“It has not even sunk in yet. I have surprised myself. I have just got to stay focused and be Luke Littler.

“I have got to be mature and be myself. It would be unbelievable if I won it, I only wanted to win one match.”

After securing himself an impressive £200,000 for earning a place in the final, he’s now set to face Luke Humphries, who beat Scott Williams 6-0, for a chance to win a whopping £500,000.

With just one match between him and the £500,000 prize money, Littler has already revealed what he’d spend his winnings on - namely a few tracksuits, a new coat and 'some Fifa points for my Xbox'.

And it’s fair to say that Littler has been a bit of a dark horse throughout the tournament - due in part to the fact he’s still just a teenager - and Williams is heading into tonight’s final as the favourite.

Some betting fans have managed to take full advantage of this and found odds of a ridiculous 300/1 - meaning even if they only put a tenner on they’ll make a staggering £3,000 profit.

Meanwhile, the Clarkson’s Farm star has made an interesting wager of his own.

Taking to X, Clarkson vowed to hand over enough cans of his new ultra-low alcohol lager to last the teen until he’s old enough to drink a proper pint.

Clarkson wrote: “This may turn out to be expensive but if Luke Littler wins tonight, I’ll give him enough of our brand new 0.3 percent Hawkstone Spa lager to last till he’s 18.”

Clarkson launched his new low-alcohol beer earlier this week - just in time for Dry January - by sharing a video of himself sipping on a glass of it while working at the gym.

In the clip, Clarkson told his followers: “When you’re working out in the gym it’s important to stay hydrated.

“And what I would recommend is Hawkstone new, ultra-low alcohol lager.

"We’ve called it ‘Spa Lager’ because that’s what it is, a wellness lager. The healthy alternative.”
