How to watch Luke Littler darts final tonight if you don’t have Sky

Some have said the darts final ought to be free to watch so people can see if darts prodigy Luke Littler wins

Tonight's the night that darts prodigy Luke Littler becomes the youngest ever person to compete in the final of the World Darts Championship (WDC).

He's scored some stunning victories on his path to the final at Alexandra Palace, including over opponents he grew up idolising.

Now all that remains for him to do is take on the newly minted world number one Luke Humphries, which is easier said than done.

16-year-old Luke 'the Nuke' Littler goes up against the 28-year-old 'Cool Hand' Luke Humphries at the Ally Pally, and there will be plenty wanting to watch all the action.

The excitement around tonight owes a lot to the hype that has built up around Littler and his meteoric rise during this tournament.

He backs himself to win and take home the title, along with a prize purse of £500,000 to outdo the £200,000 he's already in line for by making it to the final.

Littler's also got his eye on a few things he wants to buy with his winnings, namely a few tracksuits, a new coat and 'some Fifa points for my Xbox'.

Before that all happens however two of the finest people in the world at throwing pointy objects at a circle must go head to head to find out who is the best of the bunch, and you can follow it on TV.

What time is the WDC final on?

The show begins at 7:30pm tonight (3 January) with live coverage expected from 8pm and the final itself beginning at around 8:20pm, so you'll need to be alert and ready for that time.

Get your snacks ready, put the cat out and be prepared.

How can I watch Luke Littler vs Luke Humphries on TV?

This is a pretty easy one if you have a Sky subscription as you'll be able to tune into the final on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Arena.

Sadly if you want to watch Luke Littler tonight it'll cost you, though you don't need a Sky subscription.

However, if you're not signed up to Sky then things get a bit trickier.

There have been calls to make the World Darts Championship finals free to view, with politician Jamie Stone MP saying it would be 'scandalous' for Luke Littler's first final not to be on free-to-air TV.

Certain sports are required to be shown live on free-to-air TV but darts is not among them, meaning there is no way to watch Littler vs Humphries for free.

The only way non Sky customers can see it is with a Now TV Day Membership which will get you access to Sky Sports for 24 hours and cost you £11.99.

Alternatively you could try and find a pub which is showing the darts, though you'll probably have to get a drink while you're there so you don't feel like you're nicking their Sky.
