Natasha Lyonne has confirmed in a heartbreaking statement that she has relapsed after years of sobriety.
The US actress and filmmaker, who broke into the film industry with her roles in the American Pie franchise, has been open about her struggles with addiction in the past.
She spent time in rehab back in 2006, saying in a 2012 interview with Entertainment Weekly that she was 'as good as dead'.

Lyonne said: "It's weird to talk about. I was definitely as good as dead, you know? A lot of people don't come back. That makes me feel wary, and self-conscious.
"I wouldn't want to feel prideful about it. People really rallied around me and pulled me up by my f---ing bootstraps."
Since completing rehab, the Orange is the New Black actor has been sober for nearly 20 years, but confirmed on social media this week that she'd unfortunately relapsed.

Taking to X on 23 January, she wrote: “Took my relapse public more to come.”
She followed up her message with another a few hours later, sharing more details about her situation in the hope that it might help others going through similar.
“Recovery is a lifelong process. Anyone out there struggling, remember you’re not alone. Grateful for love & smart feet,” she wrote.
She added: “Gonna do it for baby Bambo," seemingly in reference to hockey player Sophie 'Bambo' Braverman, who will be the focus of one of Lyonne's upcoming films.
She continued: “Stay honest, folks. Sick as our secrets. If no one told ya today, I love you.
"No matter how far down the scales we have gone, we will see how our experience may help another. Keep going, kiddos.
"Don’t quit before the miracle. Wallpaper your mind with love. Rest is all noise & baloney."
Lyonne, who also created and starred in the Netflix hit Russian Doll, has always been open about her experience with addiction.
In 2017, she said: “I’m such an open book that I have no problem talking about it and speaking freely, but I’ve sort of said my piece on the subject.
“The truth is, at the back of that addiction are feelings that so many of us have, that don’t go away.

“Isn’t everyone entitled to a moment of existential breakdown in a lifetime? Adulthood is making peace with being kind to oneself when a response to life that’s so much more organic and immediate would be to self-destruct."
Lyonne sadly isn't the only American Pie alum to struggle, as both Seann William Scott and Tara Reid have spent time in rehab after their recurring roles in the hugely popular coming-of-age teen film franchise.
