Nicki Minaj appears to have deactivated her Instagram account after she made a comment about Charlie Kirk that went viral.
The singer was recently (21 December) invited onto the stage at an event set up by the right wing group Turning Point USA, which had been run by Kirk before he was shot and killed earlier this year and is now managed by his widow Erika.
Minaj made a guest appearance at the event in Phoenix, Arizona, for a Q&A where she praised US President Donald Trump and his VP JD Vance as 'amazing role models' for young men, though the way she referred to the latter gained some attention.
"Dear young men, you have amazing role models, like our handsome dashing president," she said.

"And you have amazing role models like the assassin, JD Vance, our vice president - and when I say that..."
After realising she'd praised Vance for being an 'assassin' to the face of a woman whose husband was shot and killed Minaj paused for a few seconds and Kirk told her: "Trust me, there's nothing new under the Sun that I have not heard so you're fine.
"Yes, we did, I love you; I love you.
You have to laugh about it. Truly, I have been called every single thing, and you know what God is so good, you let it roll right off your back - and this is what's so beautiful about this moment, because if the internet wants to clip it, who cares?
"I love this woman, she is an amazing woman. She has a soul and a heart for the Lord, and words are words, but I know her heart and it doesn't even matter - and you say what you want to say because I know your heart - and I do not judge that."
After that slip-up Minaj continued speaking at the Turning Point USA event where she explained why she had switched to supporting the likes of Trump and Vance.

"I just got tired of being pushed around. I’m not gonna back down any more. I’m not gonna back down ever again," Minaj said.
She also said she had the 'utmost respect and admiration' for Trump, claiming he gave people hope to 'beat the bad guys and to win' and said he had been 'constantly' lied about.
Turning Point USA is a controversial group, to say the least, and following her appearance at the event her Instagram account appears to have been deleted or at least deactivated temporarily, with the social media site saying it is unavailable to those trying to access it.
