Nicole Kidman admitted erotic film had scenes you 'hide in home films' as comments resurface in wake of Keith Urban divorce

Nicole Kidman previously revealed that one of her films had scenes so steamy they felt like 'something you do and hide in your home videos'.

The actor has taken on a wide range of characters in her four-decade career on screen, from Eyes Wide Shut to Happy Feet, however it was one of her more recent films which saw things get a little hot under the collar.

Last year Kidman teamed up with Harris Dickinson and Antonio Banderas to star in Halina Reijn's saucy flick Babygirl.

If this is somehow your first time learning about the erotic thriller, Kidman stars as Romy, a high-powered CEO who is feeling like her marriage is lacking in the bedroom department.

The solution comes to her in the form of Samuel (Dickinson), a much younger intern she is mentoring.

After an illicit encounter the pair embark on a steamy, BDSM-filled affair behind her husband's back.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that filming for Babygirl was pretty intense at points, with Kidman revealing that she even had to stop the cameras from rolling as she simply didn't 'want to orgasm any more'.

The candid revelations about Babygirl's more freaky moments clearly worked wonders for marketing the film, as it wasn't the only admission she made.

Speaking about the project in an interview with Vanity Fair, the 58-year-old admitted it was 'very weird' to film intimate scenes with the intention of them being viewed by large crowds in a cinema.

"It’s like, Golly, I’m doing this, and it’s actually now going to be seen by the world. That’s a very weird feeling," she explained. "This is something you do and hide in your home videos. It is not a thing that normally is going to be seen by the world.

"I felt very exposed as an actor, as a woman, as a human being."

Filming such explicit scenes clearly paid off for Kidman, Dickinson and Reijn in the end, as Babygirl went on to be a success at the box office, grossing over $64 million (£47 million) worldwide.

The Big Little Lies star is back in the news once again this week, as it was revealed that she had separated from Keith Urban, her husband of 19 years.

News broke earlier this week that the couple had been living separately since 'the beginning of summer' with Urban swapping the family home for a house in Nashville.

Neither Kidman or Urban have spoken publicly about the separation, however, sources have claimed the split has already turned 'dramatic' as the pair have differing views on whether to try and save the marriage or move on.
