Orlando Bloom’s threesome movie sex scene with real-life sisters slammed as ‘weird’ and 'disgusting'
Orlando Bloom has raised eyebrows over a 'weird' threesome scene with real-life sisters.
The actor, 49, has since spoken about the scene with sisters Rooney and Kate Mara, who also star in Werner Herzog's Bucking Fastard released this year.
Appearing at the San Sebastián Film Festival, Bloom touched on the intimate and steamy scene involving his character and the siblings.
The project which premiered earlier this month is based on the true story of British twins Freda and Greta Chaplin and sees them becoming the shared love interest of Orlando‘s character.

He stars as a sweet talker who becomes romantically involved with the related pair.
But many viewers were quick to comment on the scene in particular, dubbing it 'weird' and 'so wrong on so many levels' in online forums.
Asked about the scene at the film festival, Bloom said there is 'such simplicity to the characters and [their] carnal desires, but also an innocence to the sisters'.
He added: “My character, the Bucking Fastard, is sensitive too. And he’s quite quickly out of his depth in some ways. It was a very sincere sort of moment that was created.”
As per Variety, Director Herzog meanwhile explained: “There are moments when a director has to step back.
"In the love scene, I said to Orlando: ‘You are in bed, and you have two women in your arms. How you deal with it, I cannot give instructions.’ It is beautiful because it has such charm and depth.”
The film has a rating of 75 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and 6.7/10 on IMDb, having first premiered on 3 September.
In a pop culture Reddit forum, other users branded the explanation of the scene 'weird' and 'disgusting'.
One user penned: "What would have made the scene a little less weird is if the actresses had been Samara Weaving and Margot Robbie instead. Since they look like siblings/twins but aren’t actually related."
"As someone with a sister…why… why did they need to be real life sisters and film this?" another said.
"Okay internet. Go away. You’ve done enough today," posted a third as a fourth responded: “Disgusting. I won’t be watching that movie.”
