Perez Hilton recently found God during medical scare before apologising for 'selfish behaviour'

Perez Hilton posted a tearful video explaining he had found solace in religion in the months before his worrying livestream.

A host of concerned social media users contacted police in Miami while tuning into the celebrity blogger's TikTok stream on Tuesday (4 August) as they reported seeing him engage in 'acts of self-harm'.

The 48-year-old was 'safely recovered' from his home and was transported to a local hospital, officials said. Now, remarks that he made in April after suffering a serious health scare have reared their head again.

Hilton has been hospitalised in Miami, Florida, following his alarming online display last night, which prompted emergency responders to head to his home.

Graphic video footage which is too explicit to include appears to show him covered in blood. Hilton also seemingly sports cuts on his arms and torso in the disturbing clip.

A woman who appeared in the livestream alongside him has since spoken out about the incident and said she believes that Hilton 'needs real help'.

Without referring to him by name, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said that it had 'received multiple calls regarding an individual who was livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media'.

The statement shared with CNN explained: "Deputies quickly located the individual’s residence, where they spoke with family members on scene, and confirmed he was alone inside.

"In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritise de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication.

"Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilising crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimise the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public."

'Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well-being'

The talent management firm that represents Hilton - whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr - also issued a statement saying it was 'aware of the concerning content circulating online involving our client'.

Golden Artists Entertainment co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan said: "At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him.

"Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family."

LADbible Group has reached out to Hilton’s representatives as well as TikTok for comment.

In wake of the troubling TikTok livestream featuring Hilton, comments that he made about religion in a nine-minute video shared to YouTube in April this year have resurfaced.

He uploaded the footage a week after returning home from a 21-day hospital stay. He had battled sepsis after developing a stomach ulcer, which subsequently became a stomach perforation.

In an earlier video, Hilton had stated that 'God presented himself' to him during his health scare and said the experience had made him reflect on his past behaviour.

Referring to fans who had sent him well wishes, he said in the footage: "I'm just so overwhelmed in the best most beautiful way. I'm not used to being supported, I'm used to getting hate.

"So having people send positive vibes my way...thank you, thank you. I made a lot of mistakes in my past. We all have. Nobody's perfect. But my mistakes are very public. The internet is forever.

"Receipts are forever. I carry with me deep shame and regret. I'm sorry, I will continue to apologise. I have also reached out to make amends."

"I have apologised publicly and privately to dozens of people. Because I was so selfish, because I didn't care who I hurt, I just cared about the views, the attention, the money - people hated me.

'I have forgiven myself'

"Some people enjoyed it, but it felt like most people hated me. And last week, since I've been home, I haven't been getting as much hate, and I've been getting love and prayers."

Hilton told viewers that he believed that God had 'forgiven him' for his errors in judgement, while adding: "And almost more importantly, I have forgiven myself."

He also addressed his critics who he said want to see him 'pay for the mistakes and the bad decisions and the hurt that he caused in the past'.

"And they're entitled to that opinion," the blogger said. "It is valid. I earned those thoughts, but I forgive myself."

"I don't do gossip. I do celebrity journalism. And I have to provide for my family. I have three young children, and my mother that I also support, and my sister who works for me. I'm doing my best."
