Sam Taylor-Johnson has shared new insight into her age-gap relationship with her husband.
During an interview with The Sunday Times Magazine, the Fifty Shades of Grey director reflected on the 'wild energy' she shares with husband, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, as well as the fact that she doesn't notice the couple's 23-year age difference.
"It doesn't really feel like that," Taylor-Johnson, 59, said when asked if having a 36-year-old husband helped her maintain a 'youthful outlook' on life. She went on to explain that Aaron, who is one of the current bookies' favourites to play James Bond, was also something of a veteran in his industry.
"He's been doing his job for 30 years," she added.

After making his stage debut at just six years old, Aaron left school at the age of 15 to pursue acting full-time, with roles in films such as The Illusionist and Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.

"He has a more uniquely wise perspective on things than I do. I feel like he's so much more grounded than I could ever be," she said. "It's a good balance for my fractious, insane energy."
Despite describing her husband as the more 'grounded' partner in the relationship, Taylor-Johnson did reveal that both share the same 'mad energy' at times, adding: "We're quite similar in our energy. I can say, 'Aaron, should we get a puppy?' And he'll go, 'Yeah, great idea. Let's get one now?' We both have that sort of mad energy."
The couple first crossed paths back in 2008, when Aaron was cast as John Lennon in Taylor-Johnson's film Nowhere Boy, which depicted the early years of the Beatles icon.
Despite previously admitting that she had feelings for the actor, who was 18 at the time of filming, Taylor-Johnson insists the couple didn't start dating until after filming for Nowhere Boy wrapped.
They later married in 2012 and are parents to two daughters, Wylda, 16, and Romy, 14.

Taylor-Johnson also has two older children: Angelica, 29, and Jessie, 19, from her previous marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling.
The couple have previously received backlash for their age-gap relationship, commentary which Aaron brushed off as 'bizarre'.
Responding to online concerns about their age difference, the Bullet Train star told Rolling Stone: "What you gotta realise is that what most people were doing in their twenties, I was doing when I was 13.
"You’re doing something too quickly for someone else? I don’t understand that. What speed are you supposed to enjoy life at? It’s bizarre to me."
