Sarah Michelle Gellar has revealed her unconventional hack for maintaining a successful marriage to Freddie Prinze Jr.
The Buffy actor first crossed paths with her actor husband while filming the 1997 slasher movie, I Know What You Did Last Summer, with the pair's relationship developing into a romantic one three years later.
Gellar and Prinze Jr would go on to tie the knot in 2002 and later welcome two children together.
The couple have also successfully worked together on-screen, playing the roles of Daphne and Fred in live-action Scooby-Doo films, as well as working as voice actors in Star Wars Rebels.

So what is the couple's secret to over two decades of successful marriage?
According to Gellar, it's a pretty simple rule focused on their bathroom habits.

"Separate bathrooms. That's what I always say," Gellar told E! News, during a conversation about her new Netflix show, Star Search.
This isn't the first time Gellar has touted the importance of having his and hers bathrooms, either, with the Cruel Intentions actor previously sharing the anecdote with The Today Show.
"It’s that simple," she told hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Tiffany Haddish.
So if your current home doesn't have more than one bathroom, it's time to upscale or get to grips with DIY.
While Gellar is more than happy to tell the world about her bathroom setup, it would appear that Prinze Jr isn't as keen on taking outsider advice when it comes to his marriage, with the 49-year-old revealing that he has never received any good relationship advice from friends.
"I've never gotten any good advice," he said during an interview with E! News last year.
"Most of the marriage advice came from dudes who were divorced and thought we would get divorced, too. They were trying to deal with their own issues."

Going on to liken the idea of sharing advice to a nut allergy, he added: "[Advice is] like peanut butter... I may think it's delicious, but if you're allergic, you're dead."
So have separate bathrooms and ignore any other advice which comes your way, got it.
The couple also maintain strict rules when it comes to raising their two children, with Gellar revealing that she won't allow her daughter to follow in her footsteps into the world of acting until she turns 18.
"We have rules in place," she said during a 2023 interview. "She can't be in front of a camera until she graduates high school."
