Sydney Sweeney starts selling her used bathwater to fans and has explained why

The Euphoria star couldn't let a money-making opportunity like this just go down the drain

Instead of simply pulling the plug out after a long bath and letting the sewage systems deal with the water, Sydney Sweeney is now selling the stuff.

The Euphoria star, 27, smelt a strong whiff of opportunity after previously starring in an advert for Dr Squatch's body wash, and is now flogging the liquid she herself has bathed in.

She appeared as a 'body wash genie' in the promotional clips which first went live last October, while one showed her sharing some suggestions for 'dirty little boys' while soaking in a bath of suds.

This flirty footage subsequently went viral, and the sales for the soap brand probably shot up by epic proportions.

Dr Squatch and Sweeney are now hoping to capitalise on the success of this campaign once again, as the actress has joined forces with the firm to create a brand new product.

Fans of the Anyone but You alum can now get their hands on a bar of soap which is 'made with her actual bathwater', according to Sweeney - and they apparently come with a certificate verifying this statement.

It's described as 'the ultimate blend of outdoor serenity with refreshing notes of pine, douglas fir, earthy moss, and a touch of Sydney's Bathwater Bliss'.

The bar of soap 'channels two of the best places on Earth: the great outdoors and Sydney Sweeney’s bathtub,' a press release from the brand said.

There's only 5,000 of them too, so you've got to be quick if you want one when they go live on 6 June - and let's have it right, they are probably going to fly off the shelves.

Announcing the news in an Instagram post, Dr Squatch said: "You kept asking about my bathwater after the @drsquatch ad...so we kept it.

"Introducing Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss! A very real, very limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater."

And if, like a lot of people, you were wondering why on Earth Sweeney has gone down this route, she's already explained herself - and acknowledged it is a bit 'weird'.

"When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it, or turn it into a bar of Dr Squatch soap," the Washington-born screen star said.

"It’s weird in the best way, and I love that we created something that’s not just unforgettable, it actually smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love.

"Hopefully, this helps guys wake up to the realities of conventional personal care products and pushes them towards natural."

There's been a mixed reaction among social media users, with some hailing it as an 'amazing' idea, while others reckon it's downright 'creepy'.

But there's some simply taking the glass-half-full approach, like one person who pointed out: "Whatever makes men take showers."

Another commented: "I love you Sydney but what the f**k is this?"

A third said: "Thanks, I’ll take 100."

A fourth wrote: "Imagine being down bad enough to buy this."

While a fifth chimed in saying: "I will be buying!"
