Tom Holland becomes first guest to throw up on Hot Ones
Whether we like it or not there is now one undeniable fact about the blockbuster film industry: A large part of your experience of the marketing of these films involves sitting down and eating chicken whilst people ask you questions about the movie.
Between Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Chicken Shop Date and Hot Ones with Sean Evans the biggest celebrities in the world have gone through this chicken-based gauntlet, but Tom Holland has now become the first actor to be defeated by Evans’ hot-wing chat show.
Holland appeared on Hot Ones alongside Jon Bernthal, his co-star in both The Odyssey and the soon-to-release Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Both celebrity stars have appeared before, with Holland having previously jokingly called a doctor whilst promoting Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In the latest appearance on the show however, just as the cameras were about to stop rolling Holland threw up as a result of half an hour of spicey wings alongside Evans and Bernthal.
The Punisher actor was ecstatic that Holland vomited as a result of ‘The Last Dab’ as Evans calls the last and spiciest wing which they claim has a Scoville level of 2,000,000, saying: “Let’s go! Take a picture of it… Has anybody puked before?”
When Evans was asked this by Bernthal he confirmed that Holland was the first celebrity to take on the show in which they had thrown up, with the Spider-Man actor saying: “I love being the first.”
This came after Bernthal convinced Holland to ‘eat the whole thing’ and the Punisher actor ironically joked that he was going to throw up, saying: “This is worse than I remember… this is so bad.”
Holland had previously expressed how badly the last wing affected him, jokingly saying that he had to go see kids now who would be asking: “What the f*ck happened to Spider-Man.”
Fans were shocked at the British actor’s response to it however, as he burst into laughter, with one X reply saying: “I don’t think I’ve ever in my life seen someone laughing after throwing up my whole fucking day is RUINED after throwing up.”
Both Bernthal and Holland have known each other for a decade, having met on the film Pilgrimage in 2015.
The pair were both auditioning for their respective roles in the Marvel universe, Bernthal on Netflix’s Daredevil and Holland for Captain America: Civil War and read lines for each other and helped shoot each other’s audition tapes.
Speaking about his bond with Bernthal after ten years in the business together, Holland told Evans after being asked about something they appreciate about each other: “I’ll take this one because you always say such nice things about me.
“As a young man in this business coming up it’s so important to find people that you can look up to and people you aspire to be like.”
He praised how the Washington DC born actor was with his kids and family, as well as his approach to his work and how he was with Holland both as a kid and now as a 30-year-old actor.
Holland continued: “The fact that we auditioned for these movies together and we took that leap of faith together and we get to share this moment together now is pretty awesome and I’m very grateful we got to do this together.”
