The 36 year old singer-songwriter Charlotte Church found fame when she was just 11 years old. She had her first on-screen performance on ITV’s The Big, Big Talent Show, and in subsequent years has sold over 10 million records worldwide. Earlier this year, the famous soprano placed second in the third series of The Masked Singer, where she was disguised as a mushroom.
She is a woman of many talents and in 2000 she won the Classic Brit Award for British Artist of the Year. Originally a classical singer, she can sing in English, Welsh, Latin, Italian and French. In 2005, Charlotte Church turned to pop music, with the release of her album Tissues and Issues. The album featured the single ‘Crazy Chick’ which made it to number 2 on the UK charts, followed by ‘Call My Name’ which was in the top 10.
Though most known for her singing, she is also a political activist. In 2017, she refused to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration, and she has also written multiple political opinion pieces for The Guardian. She is now a supporter of Welsh independence.
