Dwayne Johnson addresses feud with Vin Diesel as he returns to Fast & Furious franchise

The skilled bounty hunter is finally returning to the Fast universe.

Dwanye ‘The Rock’ Johnson is returning to the Fast and Furious universe but it's going to be all about him and his character Hobbs.

And no, this is not the sequel to Hobbs & Shaw.

**Spoilers ahead**

While Fast fans are in mourning right now with the OG franchise finally coming to an end, they’ll be delighted to know that the former wrestler will be starring in his own very spin-off following his small cameo in Fast X.

The 51-year-old shared the good news earlier today (June 2), while vacationing in Hawaii.

In a video posted to his social media accounts, The Rock revealed that he would return to the franchise.

He captioned the video in part: “Luke Hobbs will be returning to the Fast & Furious franchise.

“Your reactions around the world to Hobbs’ return in Fast X have blown us away.

“The next Fast & Furious film you’ll see the legendary lawman in will be the HOBBS movie that will serve as a fresh, new chapter & set up for FASTX: Part II.

The Baywatch actor also revealed that he finally had put his longtime feud with his Fast Furious co-star Vin Diesel to rest.

“Last summer Vin and I put all the past behind us. We’ll lead with brotherhood and resolve - and always take care of the franchise, characters & FANS that we love,” he said.

The actor added that he’s always approached his career with an ‘audience first’ mentality, and this will continue to be the ‘north star’.

Fans were elated over the news, as one person wrote: “I CAN'T wait.”

Another said: “I don’t care what anyone says, I am happy that he’s coming back to the Fast movies.

“That’s what made these movies so good with him in it, but overall I’m happy his beef with Vin is over and now he’s back.”

A third joked: “Black Adam numbers were humbling.”

While another commented: “FINALLY!!!! LUKE HOBBS IS COMING BACK!!!! I am going to watch the new Fast X but now with HOBBS IS COMING BACK!! I am definitely going to watch the part 2 of the Fast and Furious franchise.”

According to Cinema Blend, the screenplay will be written by Chris Morgan, who penned six movies in the franchise.

While the release date isn’t known yet, it’s been reported that the spin-off will take place between the two parts of Fast X.

IGN reported that we can expect the film sometime in 2025.

In the meantime, Fast X has already generated over USD $546 million (£435m) at the box office.
