Jimmy Carr is a funny guy. You can't take that away from him. However, I think we can all agree, his sense of humour has no boundaries and he's a complete savage too.

He's been at the center of a few shitstorms in his time, so it's no huge surprise that when appearing on the Comedy Central roast of Rob Lowe earlier this week he managed to cause a load of controversy with a joke about 9/11.

The brutal quip was aimed at Saturday Night Live comedian Peter Davidson and his father, a firefighter who sadly died during the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001.

"I'm appalled that people would come here and make jokes about the sacrifice Pete's heroic father made on 9/11," Carr said.

"This is not the roast of Pete Davidson's father. That was in 2001."

Actor Rob Lowe was seen mouthing the words "wow, wow" before the camera flicked to Peter Davidson who smiled awkwardly.

Bloody 'ell, Jimmy. Bit dark that.
