New Netflix Show 'Dark' Is Coming Soon And It Looks So Good

Netflix has been spoiling us lately, the adaption of Stephen King's Gerald's Game is amazing, as is Icarus - a documentary about the doping in sports, and if you haven't seen American Vandal yet, I really can't recommend it highly enough. We don't have too long to wait until Stranger Things is back, either. It's a great time to be a couch potato.

And, if all those titles aren't enough to keep you entertained as the nights start to draw in, then you might want to give this super creepy show, Dark, a watch:

The German language series tells the story of a town that is torn apart following the disappearance of two children. But rather than going down the straight crime route, this series looks to get incredibly creepy.

Dark is 'the first Netflix original series entirely created, produced and shot in Germany,' according to a release from the streaming giant. For those of you who have forked out for a top-notch telly, the show will be available in beautiful 4K resolution.

On its site, Netflix describes Dark as a "family saga with a supernatural twist. Set in a German town in present day where the disappearance of two young children exposes the double lives and fractured relationships among four families."

The description adds: "In ten, hour-long episodes, the story takes on a supernatural twist that ties back to the same town in 1986."

Perhaps because of that, the show has already been compared to Stranger Things, (which is set in the 80s), something which its creators Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese are happy about.

Speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) they said: "It's really exciting because if all those people who watched [that show] will at least think about watching Dark, I think that's a great opportunity for us. So keep comparing it."

Comparisons have also been made to Twin Peaks, so I think it's fair to have high expectations for this one.

Dark will be available on Netflix on 1 December. The streaming service will be dropping all 10 one-hour-long episodes at once, perfect for fans of binge-watching.
