Pokémon Is Going Back To Its Roots With Its 20th Anniversary Movie

How time flies like a Pidgeotto you just taught HM02. The Pokémon animated series celebrates its 20th anniversary next year, and Ash and Pikachu will be going back to the very beginning of the show to celebrate

So far there have been 19 Pokémon animated movies - although I only remember watching the first one where Pikachu gets absolutely battered by Mewtwo - with the newest film looking like it will be lit.

The films usually go hand-in-hand with the release of a new game and are set in the new universe. But the upcoming film is titled Pokémon: I Choose You! - the name of the very first episode of the anime.

In the trailer Ash puts on his cap in his bedroom in Pallet town, a throwback to the show's original incarnation.

The voiceover is in Japanese, it translates as 'your adventure begins' and the film's poster shows Ho-Oh, who appears at the end of the very first episode.

So, looks like it's going to be a reboot. And considering the original 151 were the best ones that's absolutely fine with me.
