Stranger Things 4 Has Started Filming, 'Leaked' Set Pictures Suggest

'Leaked' photographs appear to show that filming has finally started on Stranger Things 4.

A fan whose family live close to the set in Georgia, USA spotted filming for what looked to be scenes for the new series of the hit Netflix show - and wasted no time in getting some snaps as proof.

Going under the name ChihuahuaWithBoombox, the Reddit user posted a pic of Chief Hopper's Blazer.

The photo was shared with the caption: "Filming has begun in Rome, Georgia."

Responding to other users, Boombox went on: "They're currently filming behind my brother's house on E 9th."

Some fans may be surprised to spot Hopper's car on set after his death in the third series, but it's worth noting that it's just the police chief's car that has been spotted - actor David Harbour was nowhere to be seen.

And while not much is known about where the new series will go - other than the cryptic message at the end of the teaser trailer, 'we're not in Hawkins anymore' - Netflix has confirmed the show's directors, the Duffer Brothers, have many more stories in the pipeline.

Confirming the news about the deal, Ted Sarandos, chief content officer at Netflix, said: "The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we're thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love.

"We can't wait to see what The Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of The Upside Down."

A release date for Stranger Things 4 has yet to be confirmed but we will let you know as soon as it is.

Netflix wouldn't confirm if Stranger Things 4 had started filming.
