Kevin Smith's Jay And Silent Bob Reboot Has Finally Started Filming
Filming has begun for the long-awaited Jay and Silent Bob Reboot - and, according to writer/director Kevin Smith, they've been rattling through the shoot, having shot 'nearly 10 percent' of the entire film already.
Smith tweeted to give fans an update on the first day of filming, saying Jason Mewes (who plays Jay) and Jason Lee (Brodie Bruce) were back on top form with 'tons of tongue-twisting dialogue' after decades of working together.
"On Day 1 of #JayAndSilentBobReboot, we shot 9 pages, which represents nearly 10% of the entire flick," he wrote.
"@JayMewes and #JasonLee had tons of tongue-twisting dialogue about pop culture - something the boys have done in 2 different centuries now, starting back in 1995 on Mallrats."

Last month Smith announced the film had been picked up by Saban Films, saying in his - well, Jay's - own inimitable style: "SNOOTCH TO THE REBOOTCH! Thanks to Saban Films and Universal Entertainment, #JayAndSilentBobReboot gets the green light!"
He also explained filming was due to start in New Orleans on 25 February and that he and Mewes would both be returning as the titular characters.
Smith recently told Deadline it was his health scare last year that prompted him to pick up the pace with the reboot.
He said: "Last February, I almost died. So, on the one-year anniversary of my widow maker heart attack, as a celebration of life and a big ol' F you to Death, my best friend and I will be rolling cameras on a sequel/remake/reboot of a movie we first made nearly twenty years ago!
"In Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, our herbal heroes found out Hollywood was making a movie based on them, so they journeyed out to Hollywood to stop it. But I've learned so much as a storyteller and have grown immensely as a filmmaker since then, so audiences can expect something completely different."
Maybe if the shoot keeps going at the same rate as the first day, we could be in for the next instalment sooner than we'd realised. Here's hoping...
