Twenty seven years ago Shannon Elizabeth made her unforgettable movie debut in American Pie.
And after becoming a bit of a sex symbol and featuring in a number of other roles, she quit Hollywood. But recently, she started up a bit of a new career and made a reported $1 million in her first week on OnlyFans.
It’s not the biggest surprise there’s been such an interest in Elizabeth’s account, given her huge fame as the sought-after exchange student Nadia in the American Pie franchise.
While she’s since credited the film for much of her career success in the industry, the 52-year-old did admit that she wouldn’t let her mates watch it when it came out.

Big a big part of that wasn’t necessarily down to the sexual nature but rather the accent she did for Nadia. Or rather, the accent they apparently gave her.

In the film, she’s on exchange from eastern Europe and so, Elizabeth did a fair bit of prep with a dialect coach before filming.
However, she claims that after it was finished, she was called back in for some adjustments.
"When I did American Pie, they called me in to do ADR (automated dialogue replacement)," she said on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast.
"They were like, 'We're gonna play with the accent.' So I'd say something, and then they'd go, 'Ok, do less of an accent.' I was like, 'Why are they messing with this accent so much?' I had worked really hard with a dialect coach on this."
Following this, she said she lost a fair bit of confidence in how well the film was actually going to do.
"I told all my friends, 'This movie's gonna suck' because they messed with my accent so much!"

Of course, that wasn’t exactly the case in the end, with the film still being an absolute cult watch to this day. American Pie grossed $235.5 million worldwide on a $10 million budget and saw a number of film and series follow it as part of the franchise.
And it seemingly paid off for Elizabeth too, regardless of if she wasn’t totally happy about the accent.
“If I hadn’t done American Pie and I hadn’t done the role of Nadia and the nudity that came along with it, I might not have a career today,” she said during the documentary Skin: A History Of Nudity In The Movies.
