If you don't fancy leaving your couch over the Christmas period but need some cash to cover your presents, then this role might be for you.

Although many of us will willingly snuggle up to watch festive films for free, one firm is offering to pay you do to it.

That's right - you will be generously compensated for enduring a marathon of merry movies while glugging down a glass of eggnog.

You can feast your eyes on the likes of Home Alone, Elf, The Holiday and Die Hard - if you count it as a Christmas film, but let's not go there.

CableTV is recruiting one lucky candidate to sit back, relax and watch 25 flicks over a 25 day period.

In return, the company will pay you £2,000 ($2,500) and will sign you up for seven of the top streaming services so that you can access all of the seasonal films.

This includes Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ as well as Hulu, Max, Apple TV+ and Hallmark Movies Now.

Although the paycheques nice, arguably the best part of this holly jolly job is the official title that comes with it - Chief of Cheer.

But there is still some serious work to do, of course.

You will have to rate each film based on its nostalgia factor, heartwarming storytelling and overall festive feeling.

CableTV also wants the lucky candidate to rate the streaming services in terms of how user-friendly they are, as well as their overall selection of festive favourites.

The only requirements for the job are that you have to be over the age of 18 and a US resident.

Bad luck Brits!

The 'Chief of Cheer' can tune into festive favourites like Home Alone.

The company also want you to have a 'deep love for holiday movies, a song in your heart, and the willpower to marathon 25 movies in 25 days'.

The successful applicant will be contacted on 5 December, giving you just enough time to complete your task.

But beware of the email landing in your junk folder - as if Cable TV struggle to get hold of you, someone else will get the opportunity instead.

And let's be honest, they'll be plenty of people waiting to jump at the chance.

If you're somehow stumped about what film to start with, then the firm have shared a list of films for inspiration on their website.

But I'm sure most people will already have their binge-watching schedules for the holiday season mapped out.

If sitting down for 25 days to watch festive films sounds up your street, you can apply for the role here.
