Deadpool and Wolverine sets new record that’s higher than entire MCU combined in just 2 minutes

Deadpool and Wolverine sets new record that’s higher than entire MCU combined in just 2 minutes

They wasted no time

Spoilers for Deadpool and Wolverine’s opening scene.

Deadpool and Wolverine may be the first Deadpool film in the MCU, but it has already set a new record that’s higher than the entire film series combined – and that’s just in the first two minutes.

The film is the franchise’s first ever R-Rated movie, with only Netflix’s semi-kind-not-really-canon TV shows coming anywhere near the film’s adult content.

With this, there is an obvious way in which the film is going to be breaking records in the MCU.

What fans may not have expected, however, is the movie to break basically every record related to its age rating in just the first scene.

For one, the scene is the bloodiest and most brutal of anything in the MCU, surpassing even the non-MCU-canon (kind of) Netflix show Daredevil in brutality.

It features Deadpool carrying out a bloodbath massacre of TVA agents, using the adamantium corpse of Logan’s Wolverine to beat them to death.

If you haven’t seen it yet, yeah, you read that right.

Using his various metal bones, Deadpool proceeds to murder them all, culminating in him attaching Wolverine’s claws to his hands, stabbing one TVA agent in the arse, and another in the d**k.

I can’t say this with certainty as it’s hard to quantify, but if there’s another film in the MCU with more blood in it than just this one scene, I’d be shocked.

Now to the record.

The MCU has long been catered towards kids, as much as us adult fans may enjoy, that’s what it’s for at the end of the day.

In recent years though, Marvel has been getting a little looser with… well, everything.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 dropped the franchise’s first F-bomb, with Starlord telling Mantis to ‘open the f**king door’ in a hilarious comedic moment.

Prior to that there had been an abruptly cut-off "What the f**k?" in Spider-Man: Homecoming, a cut scene in Iron Man 2 of a senator telling Tony Stark to f**k off, and that was it.

We previously reported that the trailer alone had the entire MCU beat so it’s no surprise the film had, you know, more than one – but the speed with which they get to it is surprising.

After about a minute and a half Deadpool goes into an expletive laden outburst upon discovering that, yes, despite digging him up, the Wolverine from Logan is still dead.
