Shia LaBeouf's 'best ever movie' has made the top 10 on Netflix

The 2000s thriller is considered to be the American actor's best film

Child actors - a lot of them become troubled adults, struggling to stay out of trouble and forever being weighed down by their childhood exploits.

Shia LaBeouf is one of these child actors and is now perceived as someone with a lot of issues.

Though it might not be fully his fault, some of the things he has said over the past 10-15 years has left people shocked.

Prior to his controversies though, he had some hits as an adult, with his iconic role as Sam Witwicky in the Transformers franchise being a major hit in the film industry - among others.

But it is a role in another film that many consider to be his 'best ever movie', and it's made its way onto the Netflix top 10.

The psychological thriller came out in 2007, and stars the likes of The Matrix's Carrie-Anne Moss, David Morse, Sarah Roemer and Aaron Yoo among others.

Though it may not be a cast glittered with A-list celebrities, the film performed handsomely at the Box Office, grossing an impressive £118.1 million (£92.9 million) against a budget of just $20 million (£15.7 million). That's a lot of profit.

Directed by D. J. Caruso, the film follows a teenager who is put on house arrest after assaulting his teacher.

He then begins to spy on neighbours out of boredom, and is led to believe that one of them is a serial killer.

The film is called Disturbia, and you can view the trailer here:

LaBeouf was just 21 when Disturbia came out, with Transformers coming out the previous year, as the American actor became a star on the Hollywood scene.

The film is known for its tension, scary moments and the actor's outstanding performance as the main character, troubled teenager Kale Brecht.

It has made its way to the Netflix Top 10, 17 years after its release, highlighting just how highly the film is thought of by fans, years down the line.

Fans still laud the film to this day, with many taking to X, formerly Twitter to encourage others to watch the neo-noir film.

One posted: "It wasn’t a long run, but Shia LaBeouf had a couple years there as Hollywoods new 'IT' guy and made a couple of really good movies. His best movie was ‘Disturbia’. That was a great watch."

Another definitively put: "I don’t care what anyone says. Disturbia will be one of Shia LaBeouf best movies ever. Go argue with a wall heater."

A third said: "Disturbia is def shia labeouf’s best movie."

If all of these people have thought highly enough of the film to shout it from the social media rooftops, it may be worth watching.

Disturbia is available to stream on Netflix now.
