Emma Watson admitted that one of the films she was a part of just 'wasn't her sense of humour' after she left the set.

The British actor is best known for her roles in the Harry Potter series, and films like Little Women and Beauty and the Beast.

However, the 34-year-old has only ever been in one comedy title in her illustrious career, and it was back in 2013 with This is The End.

Starring the likes of Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jay Baruchel, Craig Robinson, Jonah Hill, and Danny McBride among others, as a host of other celebs made cameos, such as Rihanna and Kevin Hart.

Though Watson has largely been out of the acting game recently, she was an A-lister throughout the 2010s, highlighted by the cast's enthusiasm while she was on set.

Actors on set were pushed to the comedic edge, in a film that follows what happens to a group of Hollywood celebrities after an Apocalyptic event, with actors playing exaggerated versions of themselves.

The comedy film was co-created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who are responsible for Superbad and The Interview.

There's even a scene where Channing Tatum is in a gimp suit, while actors are made to essentially insult themselves and their careers for the duration of the film.

Generating about $125 million (£98.6 million) at the office, the film and its crude humour was a success - though Watson was not the biggest fan.

Rogen recalled in a 2021 interview that she was unhappy and even walked off set, saying: “I mean, I don't look back on that and think: 'How dare she do that?' You know?

"But it was not some terrible ending to our relationship. She came back the next day to say goodbye."

She also promoted the film, and Rogen clarified: "No hard feelings and I couldn't be happier with how the film turned out in the end. She was probably right. It was probably funnier the way we ended up doing it."

It was after Watson was asked to film a scene involving Tatum in a gimp mask, while he's being walked on a chain by Danny McBride, who has turned into a cannibal (watch the film for context).

The scene was aired without her in it, but in an interview for the film, Watson spoke about the humour the film showed: "When I got the script I was like 'okay, this is not my normal type of thing, not really always my sense of humour', but like how could I miss out on a chance to work with the most impressive lineup of the best comedians in the world right now?"

Explaining that she wanted to see 'what I could pick up', she spoke about how her character ate sauce packets at McDonald's to survive, eventually finding Rogen, Franco and the main characters before 'things get crazy', by her own words.

Watson further admitted: "The biggest problem I have is that I find everything so funny that I try not to laugh all the time, that's really really hard when people are saying the craziest things and you just have to keep playing it straight it's very very hard."

Director and writer Evan Goldberg previously admitted in interviews that he aims to get actors to say 'no' on set, with only Franco and Rogen holding out with each and every shoot.
