The gory horror flick has left viewers 'extremely disturbed'

Horror fans have claimed there’s another flick that is equally as gross as The Human Centipede - with one reviewer even warning folks not to eat before watching. High praise for a scary movie, right?

Fresh, which is available to stream on Disney+, kicks off like a slightly sweet rom-com before it takes a very dark turn, leaving viewers feeling ‘extremely disturbed’ after watching. You can check out the trailer here:

The 2022 film centres on Noa (played by Daisy Edgar-Jones), a woman who is sick of the modern dating world and the apps that come with it - something I think a lot us can relate to.

But when she meets a guy named Steve (played by Sebastian Stan) while out shopping she decides to give him a shot and the pair swap numbers.

So far, so normal - but when Noa accepts Steve’s invite to a weekend getaway, she soon discovers her new partner has some unusual appetites.

And it’s at this point things take a turn for the weird… and the gory.

GamesRadar writer Matt Maytum described Fresh as ‘a twisted genre-flipper that requires a strong stomach’.

Elsewhere, Digital Spy’s Ian Sandwell said: “Our only word of warning, it's probably best you don't have a full meal before watching.”

Similar sentiments were shared by viewers at home, with one taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, to write: “This s**t is insane. Like Human Centipede level insane.”

Another said: “I’m watching Fresh the Hulu film and it’s giving me Human Centipede vibes.”

“The Disney+ movie Fresh basically showed that meeting people organically is much worse than meeting them online lmfao,” quipped a third, adding, “That was disturbing.”

Someone else posted: “Watched the film Fresh on Disney+, thought it was class how it goes from pure cheese romcom to really quite morbid/graphic themes outta nowhere.”

Others were quick to praise the acting on display alongside the more disturbing beats of the movie.

“The kidnapping/serial killer/torture stuff is not my genre of horror,” commented one online.

“But Fresh was solid. It's very gross, extremely disturbing, and I probably won't watch it again, but Sebastian Stan and @DaisyEdgarJones absolutely crushed their roles, and the pacing is perfect.”

Fresh is currently available to stream on Disney+. So what are you waiting for? If this is your messed up cup of tea, it’s worth adding it to your watchlist - just make sure your stomach is ready.
