GTA 6 prices have officially been confirmed for its standard and ultimate editions.

With pre-orders going live in mere hours time, it has been confirmed that the standard GTA 6 game will cost you just $79.99. That is about £60 in the UK.

The Ultimate Edition will set you back $99.99 in the USA, which equates to roughly £75. So while the $100 rumours are true, they're for the game with extra perks, not the basic edition, which is a huge win. All props to IGN for the scoop on this.

The game will also officially be able for download a week early after Rockstar unveiled a tonne of new information about the game ahead of pre-orders going live. But we'll stop you right there.

It wont be playable seven days ahead of time. Let's breathe for a minute. But Rockstar has hinted it could be essential if you want to make your Grand Theft Auto gaming experience fly from the off.

Pre-orders go live on Thursday (25 June) at midnight local time. And to get the party started, the developer has released information about its Ultimate Edition which will be available for purchase.

And for those who do purchase, you'll be able to set up your console in advance so that the release date - 19 November - will go as smooth as possible.

Rockstar has confirmed that on 12 November, it will allow gamers to pre-load their PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X / S with the game to 'ensure they are able to play at launch on November 19'.

That's one hefty file size we're expecting, time to clear the decks.

It's not just for digital downloads either. The 'physical' version contains a download code inside the box (but no disc...) and will be available starting 12 November to support said pre-loading.

The pre-loading is for gamers who buy the Standard and Ultimate Edition.

Those who buy in advance also get a Vintage Vice City Pack for download on 20 November. Think neon, retro, and everything that made 2002's Vice City so iconic. It looks brilliant.

Rockstar says: "Featuring a timeless ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage alongside Ocean Beach, decadent outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, and an iconic weapon pattern that echoes the excess of the past."

GTA 6 Ultimate Edition explained

"Seize everything this massive world has to offer with the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition, an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action around every corner," Rockstar says.

That includes a '95 Grotti Cheetah car to drive from the off, Hawk & little Morgan Revolver weapons for both the Lucia and Jason characters (as well as personalised pistols).

Both characters will also get exclusive outfits, tattoos, and haircuts, with mods available for Jason's vehicles.

Watch out for scams

We reported yesterday that scammers are currently targeting GTA fanatics with early access promises.

As confirmed by Rockstar today, the only early access you're getting is getting your console ready to play on 19 November.

Anyone asking for Bitcoin or Ethereum before then for an early access code is trying to steal from you. Don't fall for it, play the waiting game.
