The new blockbuster action movie, The Gray Man, is almost upon us. The new trailer hasn’t given away too much, but what we do know is that the all-star cast and crew is sure to impress, as we wait tentatively for Netflix’s biggest film ever.

When is the film coming out?

The film is being released in certain cinemas on the 15th July 2022 and then will be on Netflix just one week later on the 22nd July at 07:00 UK time.

Cast and Crew

The new spy movie boasts an impressive cast with Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans taking centre stage. Gosling is playing pur main protagonist C.I.A agent Court Gentry, whilst Evans plays his adversary, the Assassin Lloyd Hudson.

Perhaps the most impressive names surrounding the film are the Endgame and Infinity war directors, Anthony and Joe Russo. The infamous directors are sure to please, with one member of the cast Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton) saying “the freakiest thing about working on a Russo set is that the standards are so insanely high for everyone in every department.”

Aside from the two main characters, Gosling and Evans are accompanied by more high quality actors, Regé-Jean Page has already been mentioned and we also will see the likes of Knives Out star Ana de Armas and Billy Bob Thornton.

What’s ‘The Gray Man’ about?

The movie is based on the 2009 Mark Greany book ‘The Gray Man.’ Therefore, we know a fair deal about the film’s plot. The movie follows C.I.A. Court Gentry, code name sierra six as he finds out something dark about his organisation, this brings Lloyd Hudson into the picture, the ruthless assassin who will stop at nothing to take out Gentry before he reveals his secret.

Although we can’t be sure how true the film will be to the book, what we can say for sure is that ‘The Gray Man,’ will be an impressive film, not only due to its high calibre directors, but also due to its cost. With a whopping budget of $200 million, the movie will be Netflix's biggest ever.

Trailer

The new Netflix trailer doesn’t give too much away about the plot, instead it takes the opportunity to boast its infamous cast and directors with the Brother’s names flashing on screen along with every other one of their Marvel films. We do get to see Chris Evans take on the role of the Lloyd Hansen, the trailer has teased the cold ruthless nature of the villain as we see what appears to be the assassin tracking sierra six across the globe.
