If you've been on the internet over the last few weeks, the chances are you'll be familiar with the Ibiza Final Boss; an ordinary lad from Newcastle who became an online sensation overnight.

Jack Kay, the man behind the barnet, has already been flown back to the white isle via private jet and looks set to rake in tens of thousands of pounds doing various different appearances over the remainder of the summer.

But while things seem to be working out pretty well for the Ibiza Final Boss, going viral overnight can be a pretty overwhelming experience, and knowing what to do next can be the difference between making a lot of money or becoming a forgotten meme.

So, in the event you ever do find yourself blowing up the internet, what should do you?

Know what to do in the first 48 hours

According to Jade Beard, director of digital and social innovation at global leading talent group YMU, the first 48 hours are absolutely crucial.

"From someone who sees this play out week after week, it’s like someone’s flicked every light switch on at once, your notifications are relentless, your phone’s blowing up, and everyone you’ve ever met suddenly has an opinion. It’s exciting and flattering, but it can be overwhelming, and the wrong move early on can change the tone of the whole story," she told LADbible. "The first 48 hours aren’t about chasing the hype, they’re about steering the moment so it works for you long after the likes slow down."

One of the first decisions might be signing to an agency, who will handle requests for interviews, bookings and help with social media posts, but in the instance you decide to go it alone, Jade says it's important avoid posting any reactions straight away. This will allow you to think about what you want to say and how you want to be perceived.

Secure your social media presence

In the meantime, securing all social handles and updating bios is important to make sure no imposter accounts appear to be speaking on your behalf. It's also wise to scan your existing accounts and make sure no offensive or embarrassing content from a past life will come to haunt you.

"When you go viral overnight, it’s tempting to post constantly or jump on every interview but that’s when the wrong moves get made," Jade continued.

"Step one is to protect the story: know where it’s spreading, keep the tone consistent, and choose carefully who you speak to. If the attention is positive, lean into the qualities that made people connect with you in the first place.

"That’s how you turn a two day internet moment into something that can actually last."

Meanwhile, the Ibiza Final Boss could be on track to make as much as £40,000 a day if he manages to cash in all all the club appearances and other opportunities coming his way.

What could be next for the Ibiza final boss?

Denise Palmer-Davies, PR director at Borne Media, told LADbible: "With most talent, there’s a slow build-up involving media training and careful exposure. Not here. The Ibiza Final Boss is pure, unfiltered charisma, raw, funny, relatable, and instantly likeable. Brands have already jumped on the bandwagon, using his image to promote themselves and ride the wave of attention.

"Of course, viral fame brings a rush of interest from old friends, ex-girlfriends, and former employers keen to share their stories, but his popularity is already so strong that any noise is unlikely to damage him."

According to Denise, Jack's management is likely try and pivot him towards TV when the summer season is over, with lofty goals such as Celebrity Big Brother or I'm A Celeb potentially in his grasp.

"Daytime TV competition segments, chat show appearances, and reality projects will be on the table," she said. "As a nation, we’re captivated by him. His star power is only growing, and the Ibiza Final Boss is already more than a viral moment he’s now a brand. My advice? Stay real, stay authentic, and the public will keep buying in."
