Jake Humphrey says he shared bed with Holly Willoughby for six months but his wife was fine with it

Though most people would be jealous, Jake Humphrey's wife was surprisingly fine with his and Holly Willoughby's sleeping arrangement.

Most people are prone to a little jealousy here and there when it comes to their other halves, but not Jake Humphrey’s wife, Harriet.

The TV presenter and football pendant has revealed that she was absolutely fine when she learned that he and none other than Holly Willoughby had been sharing a bed.

Before your head goes into the gutter, the pair genuinely sometimes shared a bed as Willoughby had nowhere to stay whilst working in London – with Humphrey still joking about the bizarre sleeping arrangement to this very day.

It happened in the early noughties; Willoughby had still been living in Brighton as she tried to forge her presenting career.

The then twenty-something had been commuting from the seaside town to London for six months and often crashed at Humphrey’s.

At the time - in 2003 - they’d been filming CBBC’s coverage of Fame Academy, with the presenters being so close that they’d end up sharing a bed after a long day’s filming as he explained.

"Holly was living in Brighton and never used to stay down there so she stayed at my flat in London while we were working on the show,” he told The Mirror - back in 2012.

He added: “Eventually, it got to the point where we couldn’t be bothered to get the blow-up bed out so for about six months we slept in the same bed."

While the presenter insisted that ‘nothing ever happened’ between him and the This Morning presenter, he did wonder what could have happened had he not been with his future wife, Harriet, at the time.

The presenters have been good friend since the noughts.

The couple met in 2003, which is roughly when Willoughby began crashing at Humphrey’s flat on a regular basis.

Though the football pundit went on to marry his then-girlfriend in 2007, he still is curious about what could have been.

"I wouldn’t want to say I met my wife too early but I would just say Holly’s worst habit is she sleeps naked – joking, of course,” he joked.

However, the former children’s presenter insisted that they were still just good friends.

"Holly’s a good mate but I look back on my time with her and wonder what might have been but I was going out with Harriet at the time and she lived in Leeds,” he revealed, saying: "She had met Holly so she knew what she looked like and she was fine with it."

We’re glad Harriet isn’t the jealous type!

Ladbible has contacted Willoughby's reps regarding the story.
