Holly Willoughby left mortified as ex-boyfriend appears on stage to read old love letter
An unexpected meeting with a former flame is nerve wrecking at the best of times - never mind on national television.
Unfortunately for Holly Willoughby, this is exactly what happened to her during an episode of Michael McIntyre's Big Show. The BBC series sees a number of celebrities allow McIntyre to dive into their personal lives and embarrass them for no other reason than our entertainment.
And for Holly, this meant a visit from a childhood sweetheart by the name of Oliver.

Oliver cropped up during the 'Remember Me?' segment of the show and left the Dancing on Ice presenter taken aback, as she revealed that two hadn't crossed paths since they were young.
"I know who that is, which is so weird," she explained. "Because in my head it's like you've just gone from the person you were when I knew you, which was a small boy... to suddenly you're a man!"
McIntyre then pressed the presenter details on their teenage relationship, with Willoughby recalling the pair toasting marshmallows and listening to The Beach Boys together.
"It was really nice," she added.
However, the reminiscing didn't end with memories of roasting sweets around a campfire together, as Oliver then revealed that his mother had recently handed him a love letter she'd written during their romance.
"Oh my god, what is that," Holly exclaimed as he pulled the note from his pocket.
Oliver then explained that his mother had kept it over the years. The contents weren't anything particularly shocking, but its cliche teenager content still left the presenter squirming.
Asked to read the letter aloud, Holly visibly cringed as she read: "Dear Oliver, how are you? Can you please send me a photo of… I love you, hope you love me, and what about that photo of the naked lady Hannah was telling me about? Love, Holly."
Ah, young love.
The TV presenter then drew everyone's attention to the red smudge at the bottom of the note, asking Holly if she'd even kissed the letter for good measure.
"Looks like I've wiped my mouth with it," she replied. "Good god."
Holly and Oliver's teenage romance never blossomed into anything more than the embarrassing note, however, the singer has found her happy ever after as she's been married to TV producer Dan Baldwin since 2007.
The couple share three children together, with the midwife who delivered her daughter also making an appearance during the segment.
The tender reunion left Holly in tears, as she fondly remembered how the midwife, named Fredette, supported her through the labour.
"Fredette was so amazing because Belle was five weeks premature, so she was so tiny." she explained.
