Jeremy Clarkson's fans think they've worked his 'secret' out after watching show

Clarkson's Farm viewers believe they have worked out the secret behind his success on the show

Fans of Jeremy Clarkson think they've cracked his 'secret' after watching the second series of Clarkson's Farm.

The second series arrived earlier this month and once again viewers were completely fascinated by the motoring journalist's new life running Diddly Squat.

During the course of the most recent batch of episodes, the 62-year-old speaks with a local dairy farmer who lost half her cattle due to TB. The former Top Gear presenter also chatted with different types of farmers about how they struggle to make money and how every single farmer in the surrounding area lost more than £80,000 of EU funding as a result of Brexit.

After watching all the drama unfold, a fan posted on Reddit’s AskUK forum to ‘reveal’ the three secrets that make Clarkson great at his new role as a farmer.

They posted: “I know Clarkson is a controversial figure to say the least, but I do respect him in a weird way. There's a lot I disagree with him on, especially politically, but 1. he's smart enough to recognise when someone else knows better and 2. he never doubles down if he's truly wrong about something and 3. he always takes responsibility for his f*** ups."

Clarkson has laid bare the reality of farming in the UK.

They finished off their post with one final quip: “Plus, seeing Kaleb constantly giving him a b****ing is incredibly satisfying."

Another Reddit user replied agreed and added: "The main thing his show has highlighted is our lack of food security and still not being able to strike balanced laws between nature and farming.

"The dairy farmer who is providing the milk to his farm is ready to break down into tears when she explains how much of her stock has been culled because or TB.

"Whilst he is a marmite character he is highlighting how broken some parts of our society is and how councils perhaps have too much power and too little accountability and are happy to hide behind the government."

A third person commented: "I’m loving it and I don’t want it to end! It’s so wholesome. And yeah we are seeing a more sensitive vulnerable side to Clarkson - it’s great! I wasn’t a huge fan of him before the series but now I am :) I can’t wait for series 3!"

Another user said another one of Clarkson's 'secrets' has to do with him mostly playing a 'character' of sorts in order to get a reaction out of people. His new farmer era is completely against 'type'. The fan wrote: "I'm possibly being too generous but I've always had a low level assumption that a lot of the stuff Clarkson says is for effect, and playing up to a certain character - not exactly like Al Murray and the Pub Landlord, but getting that way."

Someone else added: "Clarkson is a media character being portrayed by Jeremy Clarkson. He bears little resemblance to the real man."

In other news, Clarkson's show is set to return for another series despite backlash following his controversial column about Meghan Markle.
