King Charles III seems to have a deadly aura around him, as one American impersonator believed he was heading for the gallows this week.
Matt Friend, a comedian by trade, was present outside the US British Embassy as the monarch and his accompanying Queen Camilla stopped by for a garden party during their travels.
He was lucky enough to engage with the visiting Charles as he greeted fellow attendees. Friend even slipped in a cheeky impersonation of the 77-year-old, which was clipped up online and captured the King's reaction.
This then caught the attention of GB News, who had him on their programme today speaking with presenter Bev Turner.

"What were you saying to the King... you were doing an impression of him weren't you?" she asked.
Videoing in from his Stateside home, Friend confirmed: "That's right. I actually saw that clip and I was doing an impression of the King.
"I said, 'I've been studying you and trying to do you' and he looked at me quickly without missing a beat and he goes, 'Keep trying'. And then I thought, am I gonna get executed right now?" he laughed.
"He couldn't have been nicer and I have to say, [adopting Donald Trump's voice] if I had another chance I would've said, listen to me Charles, it is terrific to usher you to the White House for dinner tomorrow. It's gonna be absolutely fantastic.
"We love the people of London and my mother had a very big crush on you and we know that, I said that last night."
Re-establishing his normal voice, the comedian added: "So I do all the politicians in America, I'm trying to figure out the UK ones."
Asked how he even came to be at the lavish party, the interviewee claimed he'd performed at a White House correspondence dinner back in 2024 and this kept him in the political sphere.
"I'm suddenly with Tom Daly, Barbara Broccoli - James Bond producer, and Kaitlan Collins and some other major people, ambassadors, and then of course I had this opportunity," he shared with Turner.
"Trump's cabinet was there and I wasn't gonna miss my chance to do it and of course he couldn't have been nicer, so I was very happy. It's almost like The Crown."
Apparently, Friend once teamed up with The Crown actor Dominic West (portrayer of a younger Charles on screen) at the Golden Globe Awards, where they'd had a 'Charles-off'.
