Amber Heard and her team have denied that she has been axed from Aquaman 2 following the loss of her high-profile defamation lawsuit against Johnny Depp.

An industry insider told celebrity gossip website Just Jared that 'Warner Bros. decided to recast Amber Heard‘s role after screen testing the movie'.

The source added: "They are going to be doing reshoots with Jason Momoa and Nicole Kidman.”

However, a spokesperson for Heard fiercely shut down the claim with a statement to the Daily Mail.

During the defamation trial against her ex-husband, the 36-year-old actor told the jury that while the studio hadn’t cut her from the upcoming DC flick, Warner Bros. did reduce her screen time.

“I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that depicted my character and another character, without giving any spoilers away, two characters fighting with one another, and they basically took a bunch out of my role,” she said in Fairfax County Circuit Court, as per Variety.

“They just removed a bunch out.”

Before the trial, a Change.org petition emerged that demanded Warner Bros cut the actor from the film.

The online campaign described Heard’s ‘fabricated’ claims of emotional and physical abuse at the hands of Depp while accusing her of ‘systematically crusading’ to ruin his career.

It continued: “As Amber Heard is a known and proven domestic abuser, Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment should and must remove Heard from their Aquaman 2 film project.

"They must not ignore the suffering of Heard's victims, and must not glamorise a domestic abuser.”

So far, the petition has accumulated more than 4,000,000 signatures.

Despite public backlash from the trial, Heard has another film in the pipeline, which wrapped filming before the lawsuit commenced.

According to IMDb, Heard is set to star in the upcoming film In The Fire, which is set in the 1800s.

The film was directed by Conor Allyn, who worked on the screenplay with Pascal Borno and Silvio Muraglia.
