Christian Bale Says Loads Of 'Creepy As Hell' Scenes From Thor 4 Were Deleted

The Gorr the God Butcher actor claims there were a lot of scenes left out that would have been pushing the 'family-friendly' limits.

Christian Bale, the man who played the extremely terrifying Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder, has revealed there were some seriously ‘creepy’ scenes cut out of the film.

Bale pulled off a fantastic-looking Gorr and genuinely makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck with his look and performance.

However, he’s claimed that there were even scenes left out of the movie that would have been pushing the limits on the ‘family-friendly’ nature of the Marvel film.

The English actor spoke to Collider about just how much was cut from the movie while also praising director Taika Waititi.

He said: “There's an awful lot that I wish was in this film, which you can't have a four-hour long film because there's so much gold that's on the cutting room floor, hilarious stuff, and creepy as hell stuff, but that was perhaps pushing it to a realm where maybe it wouldn't have been able to be family-friendly, which we always wanted it to be.

“But Taika's sensibility, the comedy, the tragedy, the ability to have the Taika-ness and the humour of that. But he's got great sincerity as well. He's a real artist. And so, man, it's moving.

“That is the bloody surprising thing with this film. It's a very moving film and then two seconds later, you're laughing your ass off.”

Imagine a scary-ass-looking Gorr pushing beyond the M rating limits, would’ve been equal parts wonderful and terrifying to see.

As for the whole bunch of deleted scenes, there seems to be a consensus from most that were involved with the film that there was a lot of good stuff left out.

Natalie Portman, who played Jane Foster, also known as Mighty Thor in the film, recently talked with IndieWire, where she, like Bale, mentioned how surprised she was with what didn’t make the cut.

She said: “It's just amazing how much great material is not in the film, considering how much great material is in it. Usually, it's like, you're just trying to get enough good stuff to put in the film, and this had overflow. So that was really surprising."

Whilst we certainly missed out on some great Gorr the God Butcher scenes, it seems like we also missed out on some actors entirely with cameos from Peter Dinklage and Jeff Goldblum completely left out.

From the sounds of things, we could have had an entirely different film; however, Taika Waititi himself spoke about his process in choosing the flow of a film.

He told Insider: “When you go into the edit you just never know. A scene on its own could be the most funniest thing or intriguing thing, but sometimes those things if you keep them in will just make the movie screech to a halt. So you have to do what's best for the film.

“And if you ask any of those actors who were cut out — Jeff Goldblum, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage — they all understand how it works. They have been in the game long enough.

“But that's just the way I look at things.”
