The Duffer Brothers Confirm The Final Season Of Stranger Things Will Be Set Entirely In Hawkins

The band is getting back together.

The Duffer brothers have confirmed the final season of Stranger Things will take place entirely in Hawkins, Indiana.

Praise be as the band is finally getting back together.

Season four took place in various locations, with Hooper, Joyce and Murray being in Russia, the Byers family were in California, and the rest of the gang were in Hawkins. It’s nice to know everyone will finally be reuniting for season five.

While appearing on Josh Horowitz’s podcast Happy Sad ConfusedMatt Duffer said: “We wanna go back to a lot of the things we did in season one.

"A lot of the original groupings and pairings that we had in season one — there's something nice about coming full circle.”

I mean, this honestly sounds like the perfect conclusion and will tie the show into a tight, nostalgic bow. I’m already tearing up.

The brothers also confirmed that season five's episodes won't be as long as the latest one, so savour every moment, people.

They added: “For the first time ever, we don't wrap things up at the end of [Season] four, so it's going to be moving. I don't know that it's going to be going 100 miles an hour at the start of five, but it's going to be moving pretty fast.

“Characters are already going to be in action. They're already going to have a goal and a drive, and I think that's going to carve out at least a couple hours and make this season feel really different.”

In the same interview, the brothers spoke of the Stranger Things spin-off, confirming that the show would be ‘1,000 per cent different’.

“Hopefully, we find that right person to pass the baton to while we go on to do new stuff,” they said while shutting down rumours it would follow the show's lead characters.

They added: “It’s not following – I’ve read these rumours that there’s gonna be an Eleven spin-off, that there’s going to be a Steve and Dustin spin-off, or that it’s another number.

“That’s not interesting to me because we’ve done all that. We’ve spent I don’t know how many hours exploring all of that.”

However, they did reveal that the upcoming show would be tethered to the Upside Down in one way or another.

They continued: “The most important connective tissue I would say is the storytelling sensibility of it.

"There is story that connects to the Stranger Things world, but it really is more about how we’re telling that story.”

Oooooo.. we already can’t wait!
