Stranger Things showrunners The Duffer brothers have teased a spin-off; however, this time, it won’t star any of the lead characters.

While speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the brothers confirmed that the upcoming series would be ‘1000 per cent’ different.

Well, I guess the Eleven and Hopper sitcom where they move to the Big Apple trying to start their lives over is out of the question.

“Hopefully, we find that right person to pass the baton to while we go on to do new stuff,” They said.

“It’s not following – I’ve read these rumours that there’s gonna be an Eleven spin-off, that there’s going to be a Steve and Dustin spin-off, or that it’s another number”.

They added: “That’s not interesting to me because we’ve done all that. We’ve spent I don’t know how many hours exploring all of that.”

The sibling duo also shared that while the story would be connected to The Upside Down, it would follow a new set of characters. Maybe even a new town?

They continued: “So it’s very different … The most important connective tissue I would say is the storytelling sensibility of it. There is story that connects to the Stranger Things world, but it really is more about how we’re telling that story.”

While we’re excited about this upcoming show, we can’t ignore the hundreds of requests demanding a Steve and Robin spin-off.

Following season four dropping on Netflix, one passionate fan took to Twitter begging for a series following the notorious pair, which resulted in over 25,000 retweets.

They wrote: “I need a Robin & Steve spin-off that’s just a workplace buddy comedy where they get fired at the end of every season & have to start a completely different job at the start of the next one.”

And honestly, we’re living for This Simple Life reboot idea.

Gaten Matarazzo also spoke with Entertainment Tonight about the possibility of a Dustin-Steve team-up following the show’s conclusion.

He said: "I think a Dustin-Steve spin-off would be good if it were in, like, a weird niche format. Like, they didn't do a full show of it."

He then continued: "Like a WandaVision type thing or like a web series type thing where on YouTube, there's weekly episodes of little hijinks they get into, like every now and again, like a skit show.”

A skit show? A YouTube series? A cooking show making the perfect 'Eggo' waffles? Please, we’ll take anything at this point to see them reunite.
