Kelly Clarkson has been ordered to pay her ex-husband nearly US$200,000 every single month.
Brandon Blackstock will now get more than US$2.35 million each year in spousal and child support after part of their divorce settlement was finalised.
The singer's former partner was originally seeking much more, asking a Los Angeles judge for a monthly stipend of $301,000 for spousal support and $135,000 in child support.
The judge decided that was far too high and ruled $150,000 per month in spousal support and $45,601 in child support would adequately support Mr Blackstock in the future.
He will only be entitled to spousal support for the next two years before that payment is cut off.
A source close to Ms Clarkson told People she is happy with the settlement decision and hopes it will put an end to their divorce.
"As Kelly has said, her first priority in all of this is to take care of the kids and all the hearts that are involved in this divorce. It's been a hard time for everyone, but Kelly's pleased with the court's ruling regarding custody," they said.
"Divorce is hard and it gets tense for most couples going through it.
"But Kelly's primary focus is on doing the best she can to protect the kids. In this case, she had to fight for them since Brandon and his attorneys were making unreasonable requests."
Kelly isn't the only star to be forced to fork out the big bucks to settle a divorce disagreement.
Dr Dre was recently told to give his ex-wife Nicole Young nearly $300,000 per month.
Young initially asked for a whopping US$1.9 million a month as well as have her $5 million lawyer fees paid for by Dr, whose real name is Andre Young.
Ms Young wanted that incredible amount of money because of her extensive monthly outgoings, which include entertainment ($900,000), education ($60,000), laundry and cleaning ($10,000), clothes ($135,000), charitable donations ($120,000), mortgage ($100,000) and 'telephone, cellphone and email' ($20,000).
That was for every month.
However, a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge decided Dr Dre will be required to pay only a fraction of that initial request for the interim.
According to Radar Online, this decision is only temporary until a final decision is made.
The court document read: "[Dre] is ordered to pay to the [Nicole] spousal support in the sum of $293,306.00 per month, payable on the first of each month, commencing August 1, 2021."
Andre and Nicole were married for 24 years after getting hitched in 1996. They have two children together.
