Stranger Things Copped 13 Emmy Nominations But Millie Bobby Brown And Sadie Sink Weren't Included

Stranger Things Copped 13 Emmy Nominations But Millie Bobby Brown And Sadie Sink Weren't Included

Two of the biggest stars of the shows haven't been recognised for the 2022 awards.

Stranger Things has been nominated for an epic 13 Emmy Awards, including ‘Best Drama’.

However, many have been shocked to see Millie Bobby Brown and Sadie Sink snubbed from the nominations, despite being two of the biggest characters.

The duo was put forward for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for their work in the fourth season, according to Variety.

However, they haven't been able to beat out the likes of Patricia Arquette (Severance), Julia Garner (Ozark), Jung Ho-yeon (Squid Game), Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul), J. Smith-Cameron (Succession), Sarah Snook (Succession) and Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), all of whom have been nominated.

The internet was left frazzled, as many fans were confused about why the two young actors were excluded from the list.

One person wrote: “Stranger Things p***ed the Emmy Awards off somehow because there’s no way Millie Bobby Brown didn’t get a best supporting actress nomination for season three or season four.”

Another commented: “The greatest actresses of their generation, Millie Bobby Brown and Sadie Sink deserved that f***ing Emmy nomination for their unbelievable performance in #StrangerThings!!!”

A third person said: “Did you not watch episode eight or did you skip it?”

While another wrote: “My girls were robbed.”

According to Deadline, the eligibility period set by the 2022 awards are for shows that aired between June 1, 2021, and May 31, 2022.

While the first seven episodes of season four dropped on May 27 on Netflix, volume two was later released on July 1.

However, this isn’t the first time the Emmys have faced backlash for overlooking an actor on the show.

In 2017, the first season picked up an impressive 18 nominations; however, Winona Ryder didn’t earn a nomination despite her performance receiving critical acclaim.

This year, once again, Winona was submitted in the Lead Actress in a Drama Series category but lost out to Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), Laura Linney (Ozark), Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets), Sandra Oh (Killing Eve), Reese Witherspoon (The Morning Show) and Zendaya (Euphoria).

While these ladies are nothing of spectacular, we still need justice for Winona, Millie and Sadie.

Stranger Things was nominated for production design, casting, single-camera picture editing, period and/or character hairstyling, period and/or character makeup (non-prosthetic), prosthetic makeup, music supervision, sound editing, sound mixing, special visual effects, stunt coordination, and stunt performance.
