Robson’s career in entertainment began in the 1970s, with a collection of minor roles in Junket 89, Survivors, Harry’s Game, and Shine on Harvey Moon. She was one of the founding students of Anne Scher’s Theatre School in Islington, London, alma mater to many British stars including Martin Kemp and Daniel Kaluuya

She joined the cast of Birds of a Feather in its 1989 conception, alongside fellow Anne Scher alumnus Pauline Quirke. The show found great success, running for almost a decade. In 2013, it was revived for three more seasons. 

She’s had stints on shows such as The Bill, Crossroads, and Grumpy Old Women Live. in 2013, she took part in the thirteenth series of I’m a Celebrity… Get me out of Here!, placing a sore ninth. 

Robson had made many guest appearances on Loose Women before becoming a panel regular, replacing comedian Jenny Eclair in 2012. She took a short break from her role in 2020, after being hospitalised with ‘severe OCD’. Discussing her recovery on the show in July 2021, she described it as ‘the hardest time.’

She has also been open about other mental health struggles, including an addiction to social media which almost led to a separation with husband Mark Dunford. 

She married Dunford in 1990, and the pair share two children together. She has a daughter, Lauren, born to a previous relationship with Tony Tyler. The family are based in North London.
