A popular male adult star once revealed everything you need to do to get yourself into the industry.

In the age of platforms like OnlyFans, many assume that forging a career down the NSFW path is easy enough and can get you a quick pay cheque or two, but this simply isn't the case.

Among all the headlines of big names being the recipients of some of the most eye-watering figures you'll have seen, is the reality that not everyone has the luxury of seeing six to seven figures on their monthly earnings.

It turns out that the adult industry isn't much easier either, as it requires a lot of preparation and a lot of bottle.

Demetri XXX is one of the biggest adult entertainment star and producers in the industry, and he previously spoke to LADbible about what it takes to have a successful x-rated career.

Demetri has been part of the industry since 2001, leaving a career as a business analyst behind for a steamy career.

When speaking to us in 2022, he was a director and producer for Playboy and TVX after decades which involved acting in hundreds of films at the time.

Now, he can be seen uploading exclusive scenes and videos to his own OnlyFans, though Demetri revealed how he got into the industry in the first place, saying: "I was modelling for a while, but that wasn't bringing in as much cash as I was used to, so when my agent called and told me I could get more work if I was happy to get naked, I thought I'd give it a go.

"Before you get offered any 'proper' roles, men are sent along for a casting."

Apparently, the audition process differs for men compared to women, as the seasoned adult star recalled: "For me, I was sent to a set, there was no camera or crew - just one woman - she had a webcam set up and there were people logged in, paying to watch.

"They were sending in requests asking us to do things - telling us what positions to do, where to put what, etc."

Essentially, they were checking if he could get hard on demand, a prospect which Demetri says makes a lot of guys 'crumble', adding that it can be 'pretty daunting and it's definitely not for everyone.'

For Demetri though, it was 'quite easy', as he recalled the woman being attractive and the audition work as being 'much more chilled than making a film'.

"It's a good way to see if you're a fit for the industry and the industry is a good fit for you," he added.

Before you start thinking about pursuing the career yourself though, it's worth noting that Demetri thinks he has 'the best job in the world'.... about 'five percent of the time'.

"It's also a lot of hard work. It's not like having sex with your girlfriend or whatever... everything is done to make the finished product look good," he explained.

The porn veteran explained that anywhere up to 20 or 30 people can be on set when you're trying to perform, while 'it's getting stopped and started'.

Essentially, you don't do it for sex to feel good, but so it looks good on camera.

He highlighted: "When it's good, it's great. You turn up, the woman is stunning and you get along, the director is your mate, there's a really good vibe, and, yeah, then it's great.

"But that's not the majority of the time, by any means."

Sounds like most jobs out there - sorry, lads.
