Man Vs Bee: Release Date, Trailer, Cast And Plot

All you need to know about the new Netflix series

The legendary comedy actor is back. ‘Mr Bean,’ ‘Johnny English’ and ‘Blackadder’ star Rowan Atkinson will take the main stage in the new Netflix comedy series ‘Man vs Bee.’ The brand new trailer shows the comedian’s struggle against a singular bee and the real thing is bound to be as ridiculous as it sounds.

Here is everything you need to know about ‘Man vs Bee’...

Release Date

The absurd new Netflix slapstick will be on the streaming service from 24 June, 2022. There will be 10 episodes, however each episode will only be around 10 minutes long. These short episodes will only add to the chaotic nature of the show.

Plot and Trailer

The official Netflix synopsis reads: ‘Bumbling dad Trevor tries to get the best of a cunning bee whilst house sitting a posh mansion - but only unleashes more chaos.’ The trailer shows main character Trevor getting himself into all sorts of strife whilst trying to get rid of the troublesome insect, such as reckless driving, smashing ornaments, it even shows shots of him with a flamethrower. These ludicrous events will definitely bring a sense of nostalgia to those who are fans of ‘Mr Bean’ and ‘Johnny English.’

Cast and Crew

The new series is being created by Rowan Atkinson and Johnny English writer William Davies. Sticking to the same theme, the director of Man vs Bee, David Kerr, also had Johnny English as his debut film.

Moving onto the cast, the blundering Trevor (Rowan Atkinson) and his arch enemy, a CGI bee, will dominate the screen time. However, there will be some other characters, all played by notable stars.

The owner of the swanky house will be played by Jing Lusi (‘Crazy Rich Asians’) and Notting Hill’ actor Julian Rhind-Tutt will play her husband. Claudie Blakely (Pride and Prejudice) will take on the role of Trevor’s ex wife, whilst Greg Mchugh plays the Gardener. We also have Chizzy Akudolo as the judge and Aysha Kala as the detective.
