Ed Sheeran fans are shocked after the artist made a surprise announcement in the countdown to the UK tour general sale.

In case you missed it, the Shape of You hitmaker has squeezed three UK and Ireland shows into the end of the year, and Manchester, Coventry, and Dublin have made the cut.

Set to take place this December, tickets go on sale at 10am on Thursday, September 11 via AXS, See Tickets, and Ticketmaster.

Amid the excitement, Sheeran recently announced that he is 'just about to move to America' with his family. Speaking on the 2 Johnnies podcast, the 34-year-old explained: "I’m going on tour there for a while, so I have a family, so I can’t dip in and out, we’re going and settling there."

The news comes after the singer revealed that he would love to move to Nashville in the future to transition to country music.

In April, he told the Call Her Daddy podcast: "When you transition to country, you can’t transition back."

Where is Ed Sheeran playing on his UK and Ireland tour?

Sheeran shared the tour announcement on Instagram, alongside the caption: "Coming to play some shows in Europe. These shows will be more intimate than a stadium show, obvz, but still will be incredible. I love playing these venues so much."

Fans, there are only three chances to be a part of the crowd in the UK, so you'll need to hurry. The singer will kick things off in Coventry on December 5, before heading to Manchester's Co-op Live and Dublin's 3Arena. You can find out when he's heading to a city near you below.
