Heavy metal crowd left ‘crying and vomiting’ after fan does ‘massive’ poo in moshpit

The music is literally so good you will s**t yourself

The crowd at a heavy metal gig were left 'crying and vomiting' after one unfortunate fan's bowels opened in the middle of the moshpit and brewed up an incredibly s**tty situation.

The band were Devilskin and the location was the University of Otago's Union Hall in Dunedin, New Zealand.

It was a few songs into the Saturday night (25 July) gig and everything was going well when calamity struck in the form of an accident in the trouser department where a fan pooped and the faeces hit the floor.

Others who went told Stuff that the whole thing was a 'night-ruiner', which is a fair assessment of the impact someone doing a big poo on the dancefloor would have on people's overall enjoyment.

Gig-goer Damian Radburnd told Stuff that the pong of poo pervaded his perception before he saw it, but he and his fiancée were uncomfortably close to the action.

"Is someone sick?" Devilskin singer Jennie Skulander asked the crowd as she stopped the gig (X)

"The guy who was directly in front of me proceeded to shake a log down his leg," Damian explained, before saying that the moshpit pooper attempted to dispose of the evidence in a way that only made things worse.

In the unfortunate event that you ever s**t yourself on the dancefloor and think you might be able to get away with things, don't do what this guy did and try to kick it away.

Trying to distance yourself from the poo by putting your foot directly in it is generally considered an unwise decision, as the man who'd done the poo only ended up stepping in it.

Damian said: "We shuffled to the side a metre or three, then I realised that I needed to alert security. One guard came over, and verified with me the culprit and saw the offensive material on the floor."

Unfortunately for others at the gig before security could be alerted to the turd festering in the moshpit some other people stepped in it which only spread the scent of scat and caused people to vomit.

Another gig-goer said she reckons 'the smell triggered lots of people to then vomit', which then cascaded into a disastrous barf-o-rama as the smell of vomit mixed in with the pong of poo and 'people started spewing in response to that'.

Devilskin noticed that the audience were reacting in strange ways while they were performing, with singer Jennie Skulander asking the panicked, vomiting crowd if everything was alright.

Damian said he decided to 'demonstrate the act so that Devilskin understood what had happened', which doesn't mean he also crapped himself on the dancefloor, but they got the picture as to what had happened.

Otago University Students’ Association said that it was 'an unfortunate medical incident' and not a deliberate 'code brown' situation, so the person pooing hadn't meant to defecate on the dancefloor.

The person who did the poo went willingly with security out of the venue.

Devilskin referenced the situation in a recent social media post where they started advertising a 'diaper of doom', an adult nappy for their fans to avoid this happening again.
