The Ukrainian model who was left with a broken spine and discovered on the side of a road has claimed her attackers left her a haunting note following the ordeal.
Recalling the incident previously to Russian news outlet Ostorozhno, Maria Kovalchuk said that after missing her flight from Dubai to Thailand, she met a 19-year-old man who suggested that his father could fly her to the Southeast Asian country on a private jet.
She hoped to take the young man up on his offer and agreed to go with him and his friends to a party, but things took a turn when the group became aggressive.

Maria told the MailOnline: "After some time, they started partying. There was alcohol and illegal substances and they tried to get me to join in.
"I explained that I didn't want to participate and their behaviour quickly became aggressive. It was apparent they wanted me under the influence so I would do sexual things with them.
"They treated me like an object. They said, 'you belong to us, we can do what we want'."

Maria recalled her final moments before being attacked, adding: "Everything was a blur. I just ran.
"The next thing I remember is a sharp blow to my head. Then I remember briefly seeing a taxi driver who I called to for help before falling unconscious. After that, I woke up in the hospital."
Maria explained that her injuries looked as though she was either beaten or had suffered a fall.
At the time, it was suspected that Maria may have been subject to an infamous 'porta potty party' in which rich men reportedly offer large sums of money to abuse and degrade young women.

In a new interview with the publication, Maria has claimed that she was sent a chilling letter from her attackers following the incident.
When she returned to Norway, where her mother lives, Maria says she received a haunting note.
“To this day, the four people who did this to me are still free and have not faced any consequences. Authorities didn’t even establish what happened. They just closed the case," she said.
“They contacted me and threatened to kill my family. They wrote to me, ‘Say goodbye to your family, we will find you, we will come to Norway.’ After this we contacted the police, and they gave us these panic buttons. Each family member has one, just in case. When pressed, an emergency call goes to the police."
Maria suffered devastating injuries in the incident, including multiple fractures across her body, as well as splintering her tibia and fibula. She also suffered fractures in both collarbones as well as severe injuries to her scalp and skull.
The model has been documenting her rehabilitation journey online, sharing videos of her fitness programmes and x-rays of her injuries.
"A year later, it still feels unreal. I am learning to trust people again. I can walk now, though I still use crutches. I feel alive again and I am rebuilding myself," she added.
